The situation of the newseason package, that you can download with
the command
cvs co -r newseason mob
, is as follows:
- The new infrastructure is in place. I extrapolated a few moments to write some info on it. In the package you will find two files that you can peruse with openoffice. They are called -- mob.sxd - mob.pdf (an A3 page with a graphical view) -- report2004.sxw - report2004.pdf (a few pages' text with some details)
There is much more that I should have written, but I had bugs to hunt until 20 minutes ago, and I now must turn my attention to a nasty 1-august deadline.
- Available modules are:
** The X-window display
** The Video4linux input module
** The Mpeg/Quicktime playback module (see README.MPEG)
** The algorithm module
** The midi module
** The multigen effect (a NxM? video signal matrix)
- I dedicated a couple of days to begin with the infrastructure for the effects module. The work looks nice but it is as of now totally useless. I expect one whole more week is needed to bring it to work with the known three effects. The reason why so much time is needed, is that I have modularized the effects, too. This should render it not too messy to adapt to LiViDo or the FreeFrame modules (although I saw that those effects that use assembly are not linux-compatible).
- The other modules that were present in the
stableMøB still are not ported.
There were talks with Gisle about trying to find a couple more weeks to bring all this to a usable level. It may be possible to do that before the coming Piksel. In the meantime, I'd like to have some feedback. The package should compile without warning (I added -Werror to the CFLAGS so that warnings stop the compilation).
You can find a couple of test scripts in the /scripts directory, when you download the CVS stuff. The XML is somewhat more complex than it used to be. But this results in a much more powerful system.
